The Accomplice States adopted their Everlasting Structure on March 11, 1861. The unique doc consisted of 5 vellum sheets pasted collectively to type a scroll over twelve toes lengthy. The unique doc, together with many different paperwork of the Confederacy, was discovered at a prepare station in 1865 by a war-time correspondent, Felix DeFontaine. In 1883, he offered the manuscript to Mrs. George Wymberley Jones DeRenne. In 1939, the DeRenne household offered the doc to the College of Georgia, the place it now resides.
